Accessibility Statement
Effective July 30, 2026 · SIGMA SIGMA HOLDINGS LLC d/b/a Communly
Communly is built to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology. This page explains the standard we work to, where we know we fall short, and how to get help or tell us about a barrier.
1. The standard we aim for
We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and we treat those guidelines as the benchmark for both the website and the iOS app. We are not claiming that every page meets every criterion today. Accessibility is ongoing work, and parts of the product are newer than others.
2. What we do today
- Text alternatives on meaningful images and icon-only buttons.
- Semantic headings, lists and landmarks so screen readers can navigate by structure.
- Keyboard access to interactive controls, with visible focus.
- Text that resizes with your system settings rather than being locked to a fixed size.
- Colour is never the only way information is conveyed — status is also given in words.
- On iOS the app supports Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, and the system reduce-motion setting.
3. Known limitations
We would rather tell you than have you discover it:
- The map view for browsing listings is visual. Every listing on the map is also in the list below it, with its address in text.
- Some photos are uploaded by other students and may not have descriptive alternative text, because we cannot write it for them.
- QR check-in codes are visual by nature. If you cannot use one, a host can check you in by name from their guest list — no code needed.
- We have not completed a full third-party audit. Fixes are made as we find issues and as they are reported to us.
4. Getting help another way
If any part of Communly is not accessible to you, we will help you do the same thing another way — booking a ticket, joining a club, getting into an event, or getting a refund — at no extra cost and with no need to explain why. Email jpjewell0703@gmail.com.
5. Telling us about a barrier
Email jpjewell0703@gmail.com with the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you were using if you know it. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days and to give you a fix or a timeline for one. If a fix will take time, we will offer a way to get the same thing done in the meantime.
6. Third-party parts of the service
Some of what you see comes from other companies — payment pages from Stripe, sign-in from Apple and Google, and map tiles from OpenStreetMap. We chose vendors who publish their own accessibility commitments, but we do not control their interfaces. If one of them blocks you, tell us and we will find you another route.
7. Formal complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact us at the postal address at the foot of this page. Nothing here limits any right you have under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the California Unruh Civil Rights Act, or any other applicable law.
